Ping Fairway Woods at North Iowa Golf
Ping G 3 SF TEC Fairway Wood
Ping designed the G SF TEC fairway woods to help golfers hit the ball in the air more easily.
Ping did that by pushing the leading edge closer to the ground.
The Ping SF TEC produces higher shot lofts and a right-to-left shot bend for players whose typical miss is to the right.
The G 3 loft is 16°.
Ping G 5 SF TEC Fairway Wood
Ping reduced the bounce height of the wood so the club would sit closer to the ground. Ping's R&D crew thought that could potentially improve impact conditions.
When Ping's R&D staff concluded their testing, they found that pushing the leading edge toward the ground caused golfers to hit the ball an average of 12% higher up on the club face.
The G 5 loft is 19°.
Ping G 7 Fairway Wood
Ping designed their standard G family of fairway woods to help golfers hit the ball higher up on the club face. golfers report this made it feel more like hitting off a tee than hitting off the ground.
Another plus was the reduced gearing from low face contact and an increase in efficiency due to contact closer to the neutral axis. Ball speed skyrockets, launch angle improves, and a golfers confidence will go up, too.
Available lofts include:
- 3 - 14.5°,
- 5 - 17.5°,
- 7 - 20.5°.
